Moving On
I had moved on a while ago. Ross and I hadn't been together..sex wise in a long time. We chat a lot online..and I had been with other guys since breaking up with him, but, the topic..never came up..until..one day...Ross: "So, meet anyone?"
Me: "Meet?"
Ross: "Yea..like have you met anyone?"
Me: "Well, the mail man just came into my office."
Ross: "lol..you know what I meant"
Me: "Oh..meet..nah..no one permanent"
Ross: "No?"
Me: "Nah, it's hard to find"
Ross: "Yea, I know. Well I met someone on my last trip"
Me: "Really? Nice."
Ross: "Maybe I shouldn't tell you..."
Me: "No, it's cool."
Ross: "Yea, he's cool.Very nice, but he lives a long way away. Not going to become anything.."
Me: "Well, long distance relationships can be hard."
Ross: "Thanks. Was weird though. We went out for drinks and all I could think about was...you!"
Me: "Me? lol..well..that's normal..I mean as long as you didn't scream out my name in the throws of passion!"
Ross: "lol..no..but..I did think about you."
Me: "Well I often think about you too. We had some very strong feelings for each other. So it's natural."
...and with that we talked some more about work and other stuff. Hopefully, within the next couple of weeks, we're going to grab a bite to each and catch up some more.
But, I guess, Ross has moved on. Good for him...I was being honest when I said he deserved it and was happy for him.
Except, I don't know that I need to know about all his happiness!

BLM: You should be happy for Ross, he could not be what you wanted from him, just as you could not give him everything he needed for any kind of committed relationship to work long term.
Did you really expect him to wait around for you all his young life, hoping that one day you two could really be together instead of all this clandestine running around?
You asked too much of him and could not offer enough long term stability that might have made a difference. And it would have been dicey whether you would have stayed faithful to him had you coupled up.
Come on Ross was a total catch, he has the same work ethic as you and looked at you as his mentor, he was young cute and thought of himself as bisexual. Sexually you both were into the same things and it was fresh new and he understood, hell you even had him meet your family!! In the end why he left you is beyond me, a young 20 something with the world at his feet, leaving you a 45+ old man with a wife 3 kids a mortgage a business that was iffy... Hell man you are a CATCH!!!!
It just goes to prove that sometimes, things just end. We don't know why, it doesn't have a true reason, but it just ends. Eventually we let it go and then suddenly--years later, it becomes obvious why it ended. My guess is that somehow--there's just too many obstacles in the way.
Needs to be deleted!
